At Artizan, our volunteers are the heart of everything we do. Thanks to their time, energy and kindness, we’re able to support and enrich the lives of our amazing members and talented artisans every single day.
Our volunteers come from all walks of life, but they’re united by one thing: A shared passion for supporting Artizan, our mission, and the incredible people we serve.
Fill in details below – or alternatively, pop in to the shop or cafe and ask us about volunteering/grab an application form.
Volunteering in the cafe is a brilliant way to make a real difference in your community while being part of a warm, welcoming team.
Our creative sessions are therapeutic art and craft workshops that support adults with disabilities in building confidence, communication and creative skills.
Participants engage in a variety of accessible craft activities such as painting, collage and simple textile work, all designed to promote self-expression and wellbeing.
As a volunteer, you’ll support the session leader by helping to prepare materials, encouraging and guiding participants during the activity, and contributing to a positive, welcoming atmosphere.
In these sessions, adults with disabilities handmake high-quality products such as candles, body butters, hand creams and more. Each item is beautifully crafted and sold in the Artizan shop, helping to fund our wider work.
As a volunteer, you'll assist participants throughout the creative process—preparing materials, offering encouragement, and helping ensure everyone feels proud of what they produce.
Are you passionate about inclusion, creativity, and empowering people with disabilities? We’re looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our Board of Trustees and help shape the future of our charity.
We welcome interest from people of all backgrounds but are particularly keen to hear from those with expertise in:
- Arts and crafts (a creative background is a plus)
- Experience or connections with South America
- Fundraising and income generation
- Legal advice and governance
- Human resources (HR)
As a trustee, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our mission, guiding our strategy, and ensuring we continue to grow sustainably, both in the UK and overseas.

Join us for a fun, inclusive youth club for 16–25 year olds with SEN. As a volunteer, you’ll help set up activities, support social interaction and create a welcoming space for games, dancing and friendship.
Sessions run alternate Thursday evenings in Harrogate. It’s a great way to make a difference and be part of something special!

Volunteering with us helps build confidence, teamwork, and communication skills. All while giving you the chance to make a real impact in your local community.
